Deacon Ronald J. Drez, Jr.
Deacon Ron is a graduate of Jesuit High School ('83). He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of New Orleans, and he has a Masters of Arts degree in Pastoral Leadership from Notre Dame Seminary.
He was ordained in 2015 as a Permanent Roman Catholic Deacon in the Archdiocese of New Orleans and is canonically assigned to Our Lady of the Rosary Church (New Orleans). Among many of his assigned duties at the parish, preparing couples for the Sacrament of Marriage is priority. He also serves on the Diaconate Personnel Board and is a Master of Ceremony for the archdiocese.
As an alumnus of Jesuit High School, he strives to live their motto of being a “man for others.” Since 2019, Deacon Ron has been leading the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola at Manresa House of Retreats in Convent, LA. He has also traveled throughout Louisiana presenting spiritual retreats for deacons and wives, Lenten missions and evenings of reflection.
In 2023, he developed and presented an 8-lecture series titled "The Scriptural Foundation of Our Lady of the Rosary Church; Reflections to Spiritually 'Read' Our Church."
Deacon Ron has served on several non-profit boards, including Project Lazarus (Archdiocese of N.O.), the Archdiocesan Real Estate Subcommittee and the Jesuit High School Alumni Steering Committee. In 2022, he was humbled to be awarded the Archdiocese of New Orleans Distinguished Alumnus of the year for Jesuit High School.
He is a self-employed real estate appraiser (Ronald J. Drez, Jr. Appraisal Services, Inc.) specializing in the valuation of commercial properties and holds the distinguished MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute.
Deacon Ron is extremely blessed to be married to Allison and to be father to son Ronald J. Drez III, daughter Kathleen Drez Coad, son-in-law Alex Coad, and grandfather to one.
Registration Information:
The retreat check-in is between 4:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. on Thursday and concludes after lunch on Sunday. Registration includes meals and accommodations. You can choose to pay just the deposit upon registration or to pay in full.
